
Santosh Shintre conceptualized and founded Grey Cells. He has completed his Masters in Industrial Microbiology from Pune University. He is also a qualified instructional designer and a technical communicator from the same university. He ranked 4th in the diploma in communication and Journalism from here, with the best versatile student prize. He has also done Pune University's certificate course in French. (Just to understand 'Day of the Jackal' better!)
Since 2001, he has handled multifaceted creative assignments of content and communication for diverse clients, in print, web and audiovisual media.
Prior to his stint in content and communication, he has an experience of > 13 years in the conceptual marketing of Biotechnology related capital research equipments. In this, he has represented reputed international names from U.K, U.S.A, Switzerland and France.
For past many years, he contributes regularly to the leading dailies and periodicals with his articles, features published on Environmental issues, science and hi-tech agriculture and current affairs. He also teaches Environmental Journalism at Pune University journalism courses.
He has co-authored a transcreation of Shel Silverstein's poetry in Marathi Shelkya Kavita, a book well acclaimed by the leading critics. He has won Prizes in Saptahik Sakal short story competitions four times. He has till now 3 workbooks on environment education for 8th, 9th, and 10th standards for Macmillan India Ltd. to his credit.
His latest authored publication in Marathi-'Aranayrudan' was published in May 2009 and well received. The book candidly comments on and discusses in detail some daunting issues of Nature and Environment in India.
As a personal commitment, he intends to intensify the role of media in Nature conservation and protection, as his major aim in the coming years.
